Mount Weather - Outlaw Tapes Vol.1 (Ep)

<a href="http://mountweatherband.bandcamp.com/album/outlaw-tapes-vol-1-ep">Outlaw Tapes Vol.1 (Ep) by Mount Weather</a>

intended to be listened to as a single piece of music, half an hour long. recorded for my uncle, Doug Wallis, after his passing july 22,2010. this Ep is split into two parts: Side One and Side Two. (I - V is Side One & VI - XI is Side Two). this is the fastest i've ever written or recorded anything. recorded the 1st four songs the day he died (fourth song was scrapped, however) and the rest was written & recorded in a matter of hours over the next month or so. (several recording sessions). it may be imperfect in ways but i wanted to do it fast to capture emotion rather than perfection. (which is usually my goal, but this time i forced myself more than ever to get stuff in the 1st couple takes & to improvise where necessary but w/out allowing myself too many takes). shit, i still like it. it was inspired partly by George Harrison's Wonderwall Music (soundtrack), among other albums passed on to me by my uncle which all greatly influenced my perception of music. ironically, the album Mount Weather II was intended to be dedicated to him but he passed before i could ever get the mixes finished. i always thought of him as an outlaw poet and i guess this is my idea of something he would have liked alot. he was one of the very few people who ever told me that my 1st album was even good - he actually said he loved it. i'm not sure i would have ever even finished that album or tried as hard to make more if it weren't for my Uncle Doug, Justin Wallis and Chad Siwinski. (infinite thank you's to you & no one else!)
